Back To Blogging

We have been gone from this blog for a while, and I’m finally getting back to it!!  Life had been really busy and a lot has changed since I posted last so, I’ll catch you all up a bit.

Well, our children have all had birthdays, so Jeremiah is now 5, Caidence is now 3, and Isabelle is now 1 I just can’t believe how fast time flies by it’s just crazy. But also, some extra news we are now expecting baby number 4!!!!!!!!!!!  I’m due on December 10th which if this baby is anything like my others then it will be before that, we are expecting another boy and we are so excited.  It took a while for this pregnancy to sink in, this time it was a total surprise, and soon after we found out we were pregnant we thought I was having a miscarriage which was very hard to deal with, going from total surprise to now this new life is being ripped away was not an easy thing at all, I almost blocked feeling about it in a way it’s really hard to describe or understand unless you’ve experienced it but, our God is awesome, amazing, wonderful, and so many more words I can’t even express and I am now almost 26 weeks along with a very healthy baby!!

We have now started our second year homeschooling so Jeremiah is now in K-5, Caidence and Isabelle love joining in too a good bit of the time which is very interesting at times, the keep me on my toes that’s for sure.

Honestly I guess not much else has changed other than that and we have started a new healthier lifestyle now trying to cut out all processed foods, and we workout 4 days a week which has made this pregnancy so much easier than the others and half the time I don’t even feel pregnant which is great!  It’s amazing how the food we put into our bodies and how much water we drink can affect us and how we feel.  I feel better now being pregnant than I did when I wasn’t so now I’m very excited to see how much better I feel after I have this sweet boy.

Sorry we took such a long break from blogging, hopefully you guys will check out what we’re posting now and I will keep up with this 🙂

Don’t give up!!

The other day as I was feeling discouraged, I was unmotivated to do anything and felt like I was never going to get done what I had to do that day I stumbled across this verse:

“Let us not be weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9

This gave me so much peace and it can give anyone peace in my situation, it let me know that if I do what I need to for our household and for our children and not give up, I WILL reap a harvest, whether that be when my children are grown and live their lives with love and obedience to the Lord, or if my household starts to run more smoothly because I work hard at planning and keeping up with it so that everyone is relaxed and happy.  I was able to relax after reading this and know that if I do work hard and don’t give up it will be worth it, and even if I don’t reap the harvest here on earth I will in Heaven.  So, if you are feeling discouraged, and like it’s not worth it or you are just tired just remember if we do not give up, we will reap a harvest and it will be worth it, hold on to that promise God has given us.

What are some of your struggles, what makes you feel discouraged from time to time?  How do you deal with that?  One thing that helps me is to write these verses down and put them in places I know I’m going to see them I put them on my cleaning checklists because I know I’ll see it everyday, or a great tip from a friend of mine is to write them on index cards and place the verses around the house and that really does help.

Super EASY recipe

So, last night I was totally unprepared for dinner and didn’t have very long before the kids HAD to be fed, since they have to eat every night I figured I better start looking in the pantry for ideas because again I was unprepared and didn’t follow my meal plan for the week so I was left with “nothing” to make so I thought.  Earlier in the week I had thought of making enchiladas so I had bought wheat tortillas, salsa, and a few other ingredients but somehow throughout this crazy busy week the tortillas were gone and so was the cheddar cheese, so no enchiladas but I did still have the salsa and some black beans and I also had corn so what did I do I was totally lazy about it, I took out my casserole dish sliced up some chicken and simply poured some salsa, corn, and black beans over it and voila dinner!! It was so yummy we all loved it and it will for sure be made again. So here’s the recipe:

Easy Santa Fe Chicken

2 large chicken breasts sliced

1 can black beans (drained)

2 cans low sodium corn (drained) or 1 bag of frozen corn

1 jar chunky salsa (or make your own)

8 oz. mozzarella cheese (or you can use cheddar)

preheat oven to 375, place chicken in the bottom of casserole dish, pour beans, corn, and salsa over top of the chicken, stir then top with cheese cook for 30 minutes and it’s done! Easy isn’t it.  Serve over brown rice.
