Training Your Children

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

I know a lot of people don’t like it when we say we train our children but, that’s what we do, that’s what we are told to do in the bible it’s not a bad thing, it’s not treating them like an animal like a lot of people say.  If you ask me, it’s the best thing we can do for our children when we train our children, we not only tell them what to do and not to do, but we show them as well and correct them when they need to be corrected, so hold on to this verse and do as it says.

I agree. When my babies were starting to pull up I set a tempting candy dish on a coffee table and told them “no no” when they approached it. It they touched them, I gave them a very light swat on the hand. If they got down and crawled away, I told them what a good baby they were to obey so well and went and got them a bigger reward. By the time they were actually old enough to give a real spanking, they were obedient and didn’t need them. The kids are grown now, and all have turned out to be adults I can be proud of.
